These terms cover your use of this website. They do not cover the Mortal app, which is not released yet and will have its own terms. By using the site you accept what follows.
What this site is
This is a marketing site for Mortal, a product scanner made by Ascent. It explains what the app does and lets you join a list to be told when it launches.
Death Points are not a health measurement
This is the most important thing on this page. Death Points are a fictional, gamified score based on the preference profile you pick. They are not a measure of health, lifespan, safety or medical risk, and they are not a claim that any product is dangerous, toxic or bad for you.
Nothing on this site is medical, nutritional or professional advice. Do not use it to make a decision about your health. If you have a question about your health, ask a qualified professional.
The example scores
The site shows worked examples using real products, and the ingredient catalogue explains how each score is built. These are illustrations of how the model works. They are not a ranking of the brands shown, and they are not a claim about the quality or safety of any particular product.
All product names and trade marks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance here is descriptive and does not imply that they endorse Mortal or are connected to it.
The Ask Mortal chat
The chat generates its answers with a language model. Generated answers can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken. Treat them as a starting point, not as fact, and never as advice.
The chat is limited to a small number of questions per day. Do not attempt to bypass that limit, use the endpoint from outside this website, or use it for anything other than asking about Mortal.
The early-access list
Joining the list is free and commits you to nothing. It is not a purchase, a subscription or a guarantee of access, and we may change or cancel the early-access programme. Submit only your own email address.
What you may not do
While using this site, please do not:
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it, or to any system behind it
- copy substantial parts of the content and publish them as your own
- submit other people’s personal data
- use any automated tool to scrape or hammer the site or its endpoints
Our content
The text, design, illustrations and the Mortal name and mark are ours. You are welcome to link to the site and to quote it with attribution. You may not reuse the content commercially without permission.
Availability and liability
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or remove any part of it at any time.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from anything you relied on here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here removes any right you have as a consumer.
